Mercy mercy! What a gal what a playmate! I don't think any of us would be disappointed
to have a present like Mercy Rooney, laying amongst the rest of our gifts come Christmas
morn, the way she appeared in this Playboy subscription add up above! One of the first
things you'll need to learn about Mercy, is she's one of many names. She was born to her
Spanish father and French mother, in the middle of the first year of the 50's in New Jersey,
as Merci Montello. Upon her father's death in Mercy's late teens, she took a job waiting
tables in a restaurant, that also featured a cabaret that simply screamed for a pretty girl
with a smokin body like hers! She soon began modeling, and appeared in this 1968 issue
of "Girls Illustrated", with her mind filled with ambition, and a body................ well..........
take a look for yourself below! ........
With her eye on seeing her name up in lights, Mercy changed her name to Mercy Mee,
and jumped at the opportunity for a role in 1968's sci-fi/nudie cutie flick, "Space Thing",
with fellow playmate, Miss April 1966 Karla Conway. Later that same year, Mercy made
another name change for her next movie, albeit slight, as Merci Mee in the crazy wacko
killer, everyone gets naked and runs for their life thriller....."The Bushwhacker. With
a couple movies under her belt now, Mercy's next feature took a step up in quality, but
still showcased that gorgeous rock hard body of hers, in 1971's "Ericka's Hot Summer".
And you guessed it......she changed her name back to her birth name of Merci Montello
for that one! Along the way, she also met and was romanced by Mickey Rooney Jr, son
of the Hollywood icon of the same name.....( minus jr. of course), which led to matrimony.
Mercy also caught the attention of the boys at Playboy too, as with a bit of wining and
dining of their own, as in December of 1972, they introduced us to newlywed Mercy Rooney.
You can check out Mercy's layout in that December of '72 issue by clicking on
the cover picture down below and downloading a condensed PDF of her issue........
Being family now with both the son of a Hollywood icon, who also was in acting, and the
Playboy family, the quality of the directors for Mercy's next movie took a another big leap,
as she landed a role alongside another iconic playmate, Claudia Jennings, in 1974's
"The Single Girls......which unfortunately, ended sweet Mercy's film career. Although
her film career was short, she never seemed to hesitate to show us that body we've all
grown to love, and I'm happy to say that Playmates in the Movies has each and every
Merci/Mercy Montello/Mee/Rooney movie that she ever graced the big screen with, right here.
You can find Mercy's movies scattered through out this blog on your own while
browsing around, or you can simply click on the her titles below to go to their pagess.
